LONDON - Five-time champion Roger Federer delivered a masterful grass-court performance on Friday to beat Tommy Haas in straight sets and reach his seventh straight Wimbledon final, as he bids for a record 15th Grand Slam title.

Federer put on a serving clinic and never faced a break point as he beat the 31-year-old German 7-6 (7/3), 7-5, 6-3 in just over two hours. He said: ''I've had a lot of pressure over all the years, so this is just another great match, a great opportunity for me to get into the history books."

The Swiss, who is currently tied with Pete Sampras with 14 Grand Slam titles, is the first man to make it to seven consecutive Wimbledon finals in the history of a tournament that began in 1877. He will meet either Andy Murray and Andy Roddick, who were playing semi-final at press time.

Meanwhile, Wimbledon will see its fourth-ever all-Williams women's singles final on Saturday.

On Thursday, defending champion Venus took 51 minutes to despatch Dinara Safina 6-1, 6-0, while Serena had to save a match point and dig deep to beat Elena Dementieva 6-7 (7/4), 7-5, 8-6 in a tense match that lasted 2 hours, 49 minutes. AP
