I refer to "I am curious all the time" from Mr Calvin Cheng (July 13).

He quoted many famous names, eg that of an explorer, a scientist and an inventor because those people were "curious" . But Mr. Cheng may have forgotten , these people were not only curious, they put in effort and action, thus they were successful.

How can Mr. Cheng be curious, and yet "non-active" for two years, and then suddenly felt that he got the "calling" to serve as a Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP)? If I did not misread his testimony he got a call on Tuesday night, and resigned the next morning from Young PAP and accepted the NMP assignment .

Mr P N Balji's response was that of a normal person's. He is a veteran journalist , and I would never doubt his judgement .
