While it is true that foreigners who come here are economic migrants who stay a few years and work under harsh conditions for peanuts, it is unfair to label Singaporeans as pathetic.

Singaporeans labour long and hard and work for peanuts as well. But unlike the the foreigners they cannot go home to a place where the cost of living is very much cheaper.

Instead most Singaporeans have to worry if they can put food on the table and wonder if they can remain healthy as they would most likely have to work till they kick the bucket.

Under such conditions I believe it is expected that they seem to lack interest in anything but survival.

Rubbish survey, just make NS mandatory for all foreigners than we will not even have even 13 hundred to settle here, most foreigners only come with short term aim, to work convert the peanuts to some cash back home & settle down, if the currency value here drops they will pack their bags & will go to greener pastures - they will not be loyal to this land. Like the pathetic Singaporeans ;(

I believe there are more than 2 millions citizens wanting to leave Singapore to make room for the 13 million wanting to come here.

Only time will tell.
