Oh for goodness sake... Mr de Souza's either a puppy-eyed idealist, or an ardent supporter of the party. The LUP decision was such a clear cut case of attracting more votes to the elections.

The LUP as administered by HDB (a statutory board under the Constitution) should be an apolitical exercise, but it not. While no one expects that Hougang and Potong Pasir will be given priority, the LUP must be based on objective criteria and not on political persuasion. The PAP government went so far as to declare that the two wards would be placed 'at the end of the queue' for the LUP. This is unconstitutional. Period.

I think such a letter should not be allowed - political bias and rally for support for a political party.
