I have two questions about the H1N1 disease. One--is MOH considering that this disease is no longer a threat to the public? Two--is the test too expensive? The main issue is that if H1N1 is spreading MOH should stop it at all cost and not charging Singaporeans for helping to stop the spread. To avoid paying unnecessarily citizens may opt to remain silent. Is MOH doing the right thing to charge people coming forward to curb the spreading?

I would like to comment that there are different bill treatments for different hospitals. I came back from Bangkok about 2 weeks ago and was considering whether to check for the H1N1 virus. Incidentally, I had a friend that went to check through 993 and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). For him, there was no bill at all. Thus, his cost for the check was $0. With minor symptoms, I decided to check too. However, upon arriving at Changi General Hospital, I was charged $75 for attendance fees. On my way back home, a lady sharing the same cab told me that she did not pay the $75 as her son checked at TTSH and it was free of charge. I enquired MOH about this and the reply I got was that hospitals are able to charge for their own attendance fees. With regards to the above letter, I was not hospitalised. So, why is there attendance fees? Even if there is attendance fees, why is the amount so much different between 2 government hospitals? I didnt get a proper reply from MOH about this.
