TODAY newspaper should do a follow-up story on this.
I am sure that Singaporeans would to know more about this 'half lift landing' design that was done as part of the LUP at Ryman Lim's block along Clementi Ave 5 and probably other HDB blocks.
The basic objective of LUP is that residents can access the lift w/out having to climb up or down the staircase, isn't it? More so for our aging population, especially the frail/weak elderly, handicap persons and those using wheelchair.
HDB and the Town Council concerned should also explain on this 'half lift landing' design and how it meets the basic objective of the LUP.

Fed-Up With HDB,
The lift is wheelchair friendly.
It's the way that the LUP is done at Ryman's block [and similar blocks like his] that is not wheelchair friendly.
LUP basic objective of FUP is a lift at every floor.
This is to cater for the aging population, more so the frail/weak elderly people and people on wheelchairs and other handicap people.

A bit like the SBS 'WAB', initialy all 'WAB' have the blue weelchair sticker, but not all allow wheelchairs onboard.
Tio complain, then they took off the stickers for those non-'WAB' service bus.
