Danger spot at Bukit Batok East Ave 3
Letter from Jason Chiam Chiah Sern
THE road along Bukit Batok East Ave 3, especially after the turning from Toh Tuck Road and the leading road from Toh Tuck Avenue has very high volume of traffic during peak hours.

Cars travel fast. Residential areas such as Burgundy Hills and Parkview Condo and the commercial building WCEGA have also contributed to the high traffic volume evident by the fact that roads along Bukit Batok East Ave 3 have a Mandatory Give-Way-To-Buses scheme.

The neighbourhood committee has asked for a bridge but has been turned down by the Land Transport Authority, which said that there is a red light crossing nearby.

But this red light crossing from Toh Tuck Road turning into Bukit Batok East Ave 3 is extremely dangerous.

There is an overhead bridge along Bukit Batok East Ave 3 between Blk 228 and 231, but pedestrain choose to cross the road below the bridge and stand in the middle of the road. Now a divider has been built but safety is still a question mark

re red light crossing near an overhead bridge
anyone can explain why have both side by side in front of AMK hub on Avenue 3? why waste money on traffic light and overhead briedge?
Joe
How about speed limiting strips? Cost difference between such strips and building a bridge or a red light must surely be significant? Not sure about effectiveness of strips, may encourage drivers to speed up instead? Joe
