SINGAPORE — Singapore-based Heroes of Honour developer Nonstop Games has been acquired by King, the creator of Candy Crush Saga, for S$7.5 million in cash upfront, reported Games in Asia website.
According to a financial report on King’s website, certain Nonstop Games employees also received US$10 million upfront in total in exchange for working at King for a year following the acquisition date.
King says the acquisition will be a way to add new games “outside of its traditional casual genre” and that Nonstop Games will remain based in Singapore and will continue working on games that are expected to launch next year.
Nonstop Games was founded first as a studio called Gamesmademe in 2011, and team members initially worked in different locations before deciding to relocate in Singapore.
Heroes of Honor, a cross-platform real-time city-management strategy game that features real time battles, is the company’s first and only game.
