The slimmest One

HTC yesterday announced the HTC One S will be available for sale from June 16. The last in the One family, the HTC One S sports a cool, matt Gradient Metal finish and a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED touch screen display. Like its One brothers, the HTC One S runs on Android 4.0 with HTC Sense and comes with a free 2-year 25MB DropBox storage. And, at 7.8mm thin, it is the thinnest in the HTC One family.

The HTC One S with the bundled Beats Solo Headset. Unlike its brothers, the HTC One S is powered by a dual-core, 1,7GHz chip. (The HTC One X runs on 1.5 GHz quad-core chip, the LTE version runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core and the One V runs on a single 1GHz processor.) The HTC One S is also the music lover's best friend. Not only is it imbued with Beats Audio Technology, the handset comes bundled with a Beats Solo Headset, which has a street price of S$399. The HTC One S is available from June 16 at the price of S$948, bundled with the Beats Audio Headset, without contract. HTC Media Link Also announced at the media briefing was the HTC HD Media Link which allows you to extend your phone screen to any display with a HDMI port. With the accessory, you can work on your phone -- for example, emailing or connecting on social media -- while a movie or music is playing off your home entertainment centre. The device links to your HTC smartphone via wifi and connects simply with a three-finger swipe. As shown in the demo, after an initial configuration which took less than five minutes, connection is quick and pain-free. Unlike DLNA, which the HTC One S also has, the HD Media Link allows the options for an extended screen or mirrored screen while DLNA only mirrors your smartphone screen. The HD Media Link is available at HTC partners for S$128.
