Starhub announce 4G mobile price plans

Starhub has announced 4 new mobile plans that incorporate Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, commonly known as 4G. The four plans will be launched next Wednesday, Sept 19 2012. The plans also come with Dual Cell High-Speed Packet Access Plus, (DC-HSPA+), which doubles current 3G downlink speeds. Customers are expected to have peak downlink speeds of 75 Mbps on 4G, and 42 Mbps on 3G, Starhub said. Areas in Singapore which will have 4G coverage at launch are the CBD, Changi Airport, and Singapore Expo. Starhub says that it intends to expand its LTE network to reach more than half of the island by the end of 2012, covering key high traffic areas and suburbs. Nationwide LTE network coverage is scheduled to be completed by 2013. Here are the details of the four plans to be offered:

1. Promotion valid until December 31, 2012 When the new plans are launched, existing subscribers can continue with their current subscription plans, while those renewing their contract will have to choose from the four new SmartSurf plans. According to Starhub, based on current mobile data usage patterns, more than 90% of existing customers will not exceed the data bundled with the new plans.
