Hsieh Fu Hua to be next chairman of Tigerair

SINGAPORE — Former Singapore Exchange CEO Hsieh Fu Hua will become chairman of Tiger Airways, replacing JY Pillay who is retiring.

SINGAPORE — Former Singapore Exchange CEO Hsieh Fu Hua will become chairman of Tiger Airways, replacing JY Pillay who is retiring.

Mr Pillay, 80, will be retiring at Tigerair’s annual general meeting on July 31 and be succeeded by Mr Hsieh, who has been an independent director since November 2011.

Mr Hsieh is currently chairman of United Overseas Bank. He is also a board member of Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC as well as several non-profit organisations.

Mr Pillay, a former top-ranking civil servant, is best known for his role in developing Singapore Airlines into a world-class company. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
