Private home sales up 57% last month

SINGAPORE — The Republic’s private residential market stirred last month with developers selling 57 per cent more units compared to February, latest data by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) showed today (April15).

SINGAPORE — The Republic’s private residential market stirred last month with developers selling 57 per cent more units compared to February, latest data by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) showed today (April15).

Developers sold a total of 613 private homes in March, up from 390 the previous month and 480 a year ago, according to the monthly statistics. The number of units launched last month was also higher at 400, compared to 389 in February but lower than the 724 homes launched in March last year.

The suburban areas led sales with 391 homes sold, followed by the city fringes with 197 units while 25 units in the city centre found buyers.

Kingsford Waterbay at Upper Serangoon View was the best selling project of the month, with the developer selling 155 units at a median price of S$1,111 per square foot. This was followed by Sims Urban Oasis at Sims Drive, which sold 107 units at a median price of S$1,401 per square foot.

In the executive condominium (EC) segment, 79 units were sold last month, up from 65 homes in the previous month.
