Soon, KrisFlyer miles can be exchanged for Scoot, Tigerair flights

SINGAPORE — Scoot and Tigerair have joined Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) frequent-flier programme — a move that will allow KrisFlyer members to exchange miles for tickets on the two budget carriers.

SINGAPORE — Scoot and Tigerair have joined Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) frequent-flier programme — a move that will allow KrisFlyer members to exchange miles for tickets on the two budget carriers.

From April, KrisFlyer members will be able to redeem miles for travel vouchers on Scoot and Tigerair flights, or pay for selected products offered by the two carriers.

By the end of the year, the carriers also plan to offer KrisFlyer members the option of earning miles when they fly on Scoot or Tigerair.

“Scoot and Tigerair are already important parts of the SIA Group’s portfolio of airlines. Including them as KrisFlyer partners is a natural development and will help us live up to our promise to constantly offer our members more benefits,” said Ms Lee Wen Fen, SIA’s senior vice-president of marketing planning.

SIA raised its stake in Tigerair last year, saying the budget carrier plays a vital part in its plans to expand its network portfolio by facilitating closer integration among itself, its regional wing SilkAir, Scoot and Tigerair.
