Each day, businesses are facing the tsunamis of change in information technology. They need to manage networks that can cater to a growing mobile workforce, who is bringing more connected devices to the workplace brought on by trends like the Internet of Things (IoT). They also have to control the chaos of an IT environment that is continuously moving to the cloud. Interestingly, all these changes are opening doors to amazing opportunities for them. What gets me up in the morning is that I am, amid all of this, able to help business innovate and remain competitive.

For me, all the motivation I need to get up in the morning is knowing that the next generation of innovators are striving to raise awareness on the impact businesses can have on the environment. With increasing digitisation across various industries, there has been a greater push for organiations to achieve efficiency and productivity. I hope innovators can seize the opportunity to create a sustainable future as Singapore continue to rapidly innovate. I believe that for businesses to stay ahead in the accelerating technological landscape, the key lies in adopting environmentally friendly and responsible processes to achieve significant sustainability and business milestones.

I wake up every morning with a purpose. Each new day comes with a new target – either on a personal or professional level. Having set up the business from scratch, it is important for me to have clear goals in mind, both in the long-term and also smaller, daily ones. In today’s fast evolving e-commerce scene, focus and clarity help define success. For example, today, my goal could be finding ways of improving an aspect of our marketplace, while tomorrow, my focus could lie on ensuring my team is motivated and passionate about the work they do. These smaller goals come together with a combined final purpose of delivering effortless shopping in Singapore and equipping myself with the knowledge to achieve that.

What drives me is the pleasure to work with my team. I can’t work alone and I can’t spend a day without seeing anyone. I love to meet especially my team and feel their energy. I like to also inject energy and speed for us to be more creative and daring. It is always a two way exchange and it is this creative energy that pushes me forward. It is my passion to see projects and things move forward and develop. I like to know the reality and to strategise how to adjust ourselves to reach the end goal. That is what gets me up in the morning.

For years, my team and I have worked relentlessly at the forefront of a digital disruption brought about by technology advances such as multiscreen devices, Internet of Things, and virtual reality. We’ve now entered a new era of the Experience Business – where delivering the right customer experience is pivotal to business success. There is never been a better time to lead a business that’s at the centre of this all. More so, in South East Asia where growth potential is phenomenal. Having the ability to bring people together and anticipating what’s to come – that’s what gets me up every morning.
