SINGAPORE — Changi Airport has unveiled photos of Terminal 4’s interior, sharing them on their Facebook page on Monday (June 19).

Among the photos shared include a look inside T4’s departure hall, the transit areas and departure gates.

The airport also shared a photo of the boarding area, where passengers will be able to watch planes take off and land on Runway 2 while waiting for their flights.

Construction work on T4 was completed in December last year after more than two years. Interior fittings and operational preparations are taking place in the meanwhile, and it is set to open in the second half of this year.

The construction of T4 also involved two multi-storey car parks that will provide 1,700 parking spaces, a two-storey taxi holding area, as well as three vehicular and pedestrian bridges. A 68-metre high ramp control tower has also been built to enhance air traffic controllers’ management of aircraft movements in the apron and taxiways around the terminal, the airport said.

The opening of Terminal 4 later this year could boost Changi’s total passenger capacity to around 85 million per year by 2020, up from 58.7 million last year.

Changi Airport said last month that it is on course to handle a record 60 million passengers this year. When Terminal 5 opens in the late-2020s, the airport is expected to be able to handle up to 135 million travellers per year.
