Cheaper electricity tariffs from tomorrow
SINGAPORE — Electricity tariffs will decrease by an average of 10.7 per cent, or 2.46 cents per kWh, for the upcoming quarter (April 1 to June 30) due to the lower cost of natural gas for electricity generation, SP Services said in a statement today (March 31).

In the current quarter (Jan 1 to March 31), households pay 23.29 cents per kWh before GST. The tariff, starting tomorrow for households, will go down to 20.87 cents.
Based on the monthly comsumption per customer, the average four-room HDB household could see their average monthly electricity bill drop by S$7.83.
SP Services reviews electricity tariffs quarterly based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA). The tariffs for the next quarter have been approved by the EMA. This will be the fourth consecutive quarterly decline in electricity tariffs. In the current quarter, tariffs fell by 8 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
