liTHE 2014. The T.H.E. Second Company presents their annual performance, with three showcases by up and coming choreographers, Lee Ren Xin, Goh Shou-Yi and Marcus Foo. CHINESE THEATRE FESTIVAL. Oraganised by The Theatre Practice, this is the third annual Chinese Theatre Festival. The event is dedicated to showcase the diversity of Chinese language, performance styles and Chinese culture. This year, audiences can look forward to enjoying acclaimed works from Singapore, Taiwan and China. This multi-faceted theatre experience runs from June 26 to July 7 at various venues. KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA: RHYTHMS OF THE LAND. Brought to you by the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission, this exhibition aims to share historical stories and cultural heritage of the Saudi Arabian Kingdom. Ongoing at the National Library, the exhibition is open from 10am to 8pm every day. Free admission.

Adriana Molder: The Light in the Heart. This solo exhibition of Portuguese Berlin-based artist Adriana Molder includes two new series The Light in the Heart and Mystery. Molder has developed a unique body of work consisting of black and white portraits using India ink on tracing paper. Inspired by iconic figures mostly taken from films, the artist continues to incorporate in her work various references from literature to existing histories, old masters paintings and random images found in magazines. The exhibition is ongoing at Art Plural Gallery. Free admission.

THE INSIDE JOB. This theatre experience is like no other. A simple fictitious crime drama set in the city of Singapore, in-character actors are carefully planted at pre-selected locations for audiences to interact with. Organised by Game On!, the show will be an exciting adventure for both locals and tourists. CAUSEWAY EXCHANGE 2014. The fifth edition of this multi-disciplinary arts festival featuring Singapore and Malaysian artists is back. This year’s line-up includes Kinabalu Merdu Sound, Malaysian comedy king Harith Iskandar, Lee Wushu Arts Theatre, a double-bill featuring plays by Desmond Sim and Nandang Abdul Rahman, among many others. DEAR NORA. A re-imagining of the characters of Ibsen’s classic, A Doll’s House, the play is set in contemporary Singapore, and follows title character Nora Huang’s as she transitions from wife and expectant mother, to a life of uncertainty and freedom. NEW.HORIZON. Presented by the Dance Horizon Theatre, the show features two young local choreographers and their perspicacity of life. FLOODS OF ALIBIS. Presented by Theatre Matahari, the story revolves around a tragic death and the eventual discord between protagonist Samantha, and her confidante, Professor Farida Sayed. AH BOY AND THE BEANSTALK. The classic story recreated and produced by Operation Theatre, Republic Polytechnic, follows Ah Boy on his adventures as he meets the most unlikely of companions. RAGA BRAHMAKALPA. Conceived, choreographed and performed by dance exponents Rama Vaidyanathan and Ajith Bhaskaran Dass, this performance also features four dancers and musicians from India and Malaysia, and tells the story of the universe based on ancient Sanskrit works as well as scientific truths. June 27, 8pm at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Tickets at S$25 from SISTIC.

WOMEN OF ASIA. Written and directed by Asa Palomera, the play is a series of theatrical stories presented through a mix of dance, comedy and tragedy. The show runs till June 28, various times at the Flexible Space, LASALLE College of the Arts. Tickets at S$35 from TicketMash.

SILENCE. An installation by Indonesian/Canadian artist Ari Bayuaji, it comprises some 1400 pieces of wooden bells suspended from the ceiling, and reminds us how bells are symbolic of music and invites the viewer to imagine what they wish to hear. Till June 29 at Esplanade’s Concourse. Free admission.

VERY SPECIAL ARTISTS SINGAPORE (VSA) ART INSTALLATION. The charity organization that provides people with disabilities the chance to create art, will be showcasing a 200-foot long mural painted by their artists. There will be an exhibition where you can purchase various pieces of art, along with two charity auctions, which VSA hopes can encourage the public to donate to their cause in helping to rehabilitate and reintegrate people with disabilities to the community. Stop by and participate in a good cause while appreciating art along the way. June 28-29, 11am onwards, United Square and Velocity @ Novena Square Atriums.
