THE WAY WE GO. Checkpoint Theatre presents a play by Joel Tan that sprawls over 12 years and follows the life of a former school principal and her greatest loves: Her best friend and her intellectual partner. MONKEY GOES WEST. Written by Alfian Sa’at, W!ld Rice’s year-end pantomime riffs off the classic Chinese novel Journey To The West, but instead of a monk, it’s a schoolboy who journeys — from Haw Par Villa to Jurong West. SINGAPORE ART FAIR. The first international edition of the Beirut Art Fair and inaugural Singapore edition features 59 exhibitors featuring 230 artists. There will be pavilions dedicated to the aforementioned regions, Lebanon and the late Malaysian artist Ibrahim Hussein. Nov 27 to 30, noon to 7pm, Hall 401-403, Suntec Convention Centre, Suntec City. THE ART OF THE POSTER. An exhibition featuring rare, original vintage posters, including those designed by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, as well as pieces from the `20s to the `70s, including those on travel and transportation, household, fashion, movies, pop culture and sports. PETER PAN, THE NEVER ENDING STORY. The classic JM Barrie tale comes to life in this theatrical spectacular that has highflying action, thrilling swordplay and pop songs from the likes of Robbie Williams and Westlife, which have been given a makeover by musical director Matt Dunkley. POETRY BOOK LAUNCH. The official launch of Math Paper Press’ first two anthologies: A Luxury We Cannot Afford and the SingPoWriMo 2014 Anthology. The latter comprises poems written last April during Singapore Poetry Writing Month and is curated by poets Ann Ang, Joshua Ip and Pooja Nansi. The former comprises works by 56 Singapore poets who take on the famous quote by one of Singapore’s greatest historical figures. Nov 23, 4pm, The Arts House, 1 Old Parliament Lane. Free admission.

CITY BALLET ACADEMY’S YEAR END PERFORMANCE 2014. The year-end production from students of City Ballet Academy, featuring excerpts from various ballets such as Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, among others. Nov 30, 4pm, Faith Centre For Performing Arts. Tickets at S$20 and S$52 from SISTIC.

LOCKDOWN. In Hatch Theatrics’ latest, a certain Mrs Nora anticipates the arrival of three very important guests in a school counselling room, but is trapped when a fire breaks out. SINGLED OUT. An exhibition by creative agency fFurious, art-management.com and Thunder Rock Schoool featuring vinyl records-turned-artworks by 50 local designers and artists. The works are up for auction and proceeds go to Thunder Rock School, which will set up a music education outreach programme for financially disadvantaged children. INSIDE CANNES. A photography exhibition by Clotilde Richalet about the world’s most famous film festival, which is part of the 4th Rendezvous With French Cinema event. THE PHYGITAL WORLD. A group exhibition featuring Jonathan Leong (ZXEROKOOL), Chong Li-Chuan, Jack Youngblood, Jason Lim, Brandon Tay, Benny Goerlach, and VISUAL HIJACK. APB FOUNDATION SIGNATURE ART PRIZE 2014. Exhibition of the 15 finalist artworks for the triennial competition, including Singapore’s own Ho Tzu Nyen and Robert Zhao Renhui. Until March 15 at the Singapore Art Museum.

DA VINCI: SHAPING THE FUTURE. An exhibition of original works from Leonardo da Vince, the show comprises 26 pages from his largest notebook, the Codex Atlanticus, which collects his most important drawings and writings. Until May 2015 at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands.

BANK ART FAIR. Organised by Korea’s Art People Art Company and first held in Hong Kong last year, this edition will take place at Pan Pacific Hotel with some 50 galleries are set to participate. FOLK WISDOMS: NARRATIVES THROUGH ICONOGRAPHY. A student exhibition that taps into Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage of folklore stories, and presented via drawings, photography, objects and short films. JEDD NOVATT SOLO EXHIBITION. An exhibition by the American artist comprising two large sculptures as well as smaller works and collages. Until Dec 4 at Art Plural Gallery, 38 Armenian Street. Free admission.

I LEARNED MY HISTORY FROM THE TV. A painting exhibition by Singaporean artist Samuel Chen that draws inspiration from a popular Chinese period drama series and is linked to his own status as overseas Chinese. DREAMS OF DESIRE. A solo exhibition featuring Chinese artist Fu Lei’s elaborate oil paintings that highlight the excesses of today’s world. Until Dec 30 at Art Plural Gallery, 38 Armenian Street. Free admission.

MODERN LOVE. BEYOND THE GRID. The year-end show by the Singapore Tyler Print Institute revisits the works of artists who challenge assumptions of the contemporary “Chinese” aesthetic. Includes Hong Zhu An, Lin Tianmiao, Qiu Zhijie, Zhu Wei, and the conceptualist duo Wu Shanzhuan and Inga Svala Thorsdottir. SINGAPURA: 700 YEARS. A journey through Singapore’s history from the 14th century onwards. This immersive exhibition comprises six sections: Archaeology in Singapore, Ancient Singapore (1300–1818), Colonial Singapore (1819–1942), Syonan-To (1942–1945), Road to Merdeka (1946–1965) and Independent Singapore (1965–1975). JUNIOR CLAUS. Singapore Repertory Theatre’s new children’s production about Junior Claus, the rebellious heir to the immense empire in the North Pole who runs away and leaves the workshop to the greedy elf Grumpo. BAMBANG ‘TOKO’ WITJAKSONO: BATIKKOMIK. The Indonesian artist’s first solo show in Singapore comprises works that experiment with the techniques of traditional batik making. BUDI DAYA. A special exhibition featuring 19 artists and 57 artefacts, including 18 new commissions that explore notions of “culture” from a Malay perspective. PATH. 6, UNPACKING MY LIBRARY. Boedi Widjaja’s exhibition is part of an ongoing series where he uses drawing, printmaking, video, installation and live art to create a home in the city. It takes off from the gesture of selecting a book from the artist, his father and his daughter’s personal libraries to build a private one. KHOO SUI HOE: AN OVERVIEW PART I. The first of a two-part major show by the Malaysian painter and NAFA graduate who is known for his surreal stylization of masks, figures and landscapes.
