Mad Phoenix rises again
SINGAPORE — Hong Kong theatre star Tse Kwan-Ho took centre stage over the weekend at the staging of The Mad Phoenix, the classic work of renowned playwright Raymond To and producer-cum-director Clifton Ko. Presented by Mediacorp VizPro and Sprint-Time Productions at The Theatre@Mediacorp after a successful run at The Kallang Theatre in 2014, the Cantonese play is based on the tragic life story of eccentric Cantonese opera playwright Kong Yu Kau, from his rebellious days to his rise to prominence. Since its debut 19 years ago, it has been adapted into a drama series and an award-winning film.
