State of the Arts: Oct 24 to 31

SINGAPORE — This year’s edition of the Singapore Writers Festival kicked off yesterday, while National Gallery Singapore revealed details of the exhibition under its UOB Southeast Asia Gallery that opens on Nov 24. The National Arts Council’s Got To Move dance initiative wrapped up last weekend, while TheatreWorks presented the winners for this year’s edition of its 24-Hour Playwriting Competition. Meanwhile, as part of a worldwide initiative, some iconic landmarks such as the Esplanade, National Gallery Singapore and the Singapore Art Museum lit up in blue last weekend to mark the United Nations’ 70th anniversary.
