SINGAPORE — The National Museum of Singapore’s World War II history gallery, where this Japanese Air Force pennant is on display, will be seen in a new light in a special museum tour, as part of a series of activities by the National Heritage Board to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Battle of Singapore. From Feb 12 to 28, members of the public can visit war-related museums and galleries under the Museum Roundtable or even join special guided tours to World War II sites. One of the highlights for the latter is a guided tour focusing on the Battle of Pasir Panjang, which will trace the march of the Japanese Imperial forces and the 1st Malay Regiment led by war hero Lieutenant Adnan Saidi. The tour will be led by war veterans from the SAF Veterans League and university students from the Nanyang Technological University Heritage Club and also guides from National University of Singapore (NUS) History Society.
