SINGAPORE — After all the recent speculation that set the internet ablaze when Marvel Singapore tweeted a teaser of Marina Bay Sands reflecting off Captain America’s shield, TODAY can finally confirm that Captain America Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and director Joe Russo will be coming to Singapore come April 21.

SINGAPORE — After all the recent speculation that set the internet ablaze when Marvel Singapore tweeted a teaser of Marina Bay Sands reflecting off Captain America’s shield, TODAY can finally confirm that Captain America's Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Captain America: Civil War director Joe Russo will be coming to Singapore come April 21.

As the Marvel Singapore caption promised, the stars have now indeed aligned with TeamCap representing here on our little red dot.

Not unlike the previous X-men South-east Asian premiere held here in 2014, there will be a special blue carpet (a dig at Iron Man/Tony Stark’s penchant for red carpets) to welcome the Hollywood stars to our shores at the Marina Bay Sands' skating rink from 6pm on April 21.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War will see the beloved heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fracturing into opposing factions - one led by Captain America and another by Iron Man - and clashing over a very divisive issue that could determine their entire future as costumed vigilantes.

In recent interviews, director Joe Russo has also called the film a love story, among other things. “These are two guys (Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes) who grew up together, and so they have that same emotional connection to each other as brothers would, and even more so because Bucky was all Steve had growing up,” he told Empire magazine.

Captain America: Civil War opens in Singapore on April 28.
