Sweet wedding: Sezairi Sezali and Syaza Qistina Tan

SINGAPORE — It was a star-studded affair for homegrown singer Sezairi Sezali and his wife Syaza Qistina Tan, who held a wedding reception for 200 guests on Sunday evening at the SAF Yacht Club. They had previously held a more private solemnisation ceremony in January, but Sunday’s affair, a buffet dinner, saw speeches, song performances and a turnout of celebrity guests including Siti Khalijah Zainal, Oon Shu An, The Sam Willows, Pamela Oei, Nadiah M Din, Shigga Shay, James Seah and Sheikh Haikel.

They had previously held a more private solemnisation ceremony in January, but Sunday’s affair, a buffet dinner, saw speeches, song performances and a turnout of celebrity guests including Siti Khalijah Zainal, Oon Shu An, The Sam Willows, Pamela Oei, Nadiah M Din, Shigga Shay, James Seah and Sheikh Haikel.

The theme was blue-and-white chinoiserie because, as Sezairi said, “I like Chinese things”. His wife is part Chinese.

The groom, dressed in a spanking red shirt beneath his tux to match his wife’s smoking red gown, also took to the stage to perform a song he had written for her. It was an emotional evening for the pair, who teared throughout the speeches. His wife was spotted dabbing her eyes with tissue at several moments.

In his speech, Sezairi shared that he always used to try to impress girls by singing to them, but “Syaza is the first girl I never sang to” because it was just not necessary. And after being together for seven years, he added, “we still have so many things to talk about”. MAY SEAH
