Star Wars: The Force Awakens celebration in S’pore

SINGAPORE — Star Wars fans, grab your lightsabres and your DL-44 blaster replicas and be one with the Force — or at least, with other fans around the world — on April 16. That’s when Star Wars Celebration, which some say is the ultimate Star Wars fan experience, will be kicking off in Anaheim, California. Appearing at the celebration is Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, who will be hosting a panel (there is also a promise of some “very special guests” turning up as well).

But don’t worry if you can’t be in Anaheim: Fans here can be a part of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Celebration Global Fan Event because Shaw Theatres Lido IMAX will hold a simulcast of the panel on the same day. This simulcast is specially arranged for fans outside the United States, and all attendees of this event will be treated to exclusive collectibles.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the highly anticipated seventh instalment in the epic Star Wars film series, set approximately 30 years after the events of 1983’s Return Of The Jedi. It not only features returning cast Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill but also stars new names to the series such as Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow.
