Vin Diesel hints at Fast And Furious 8 movie

BEIJING - It has been 14 years and seven movies and it has seen the tragic loss of one its biggest stars, but The Fast and The Furious franchise shows no signs of slowing down. And there might very well be an eighth instalment in the works, hinted the franchise’s star, Vin Diesel, at the Fast And Furious 7 press conference held in Beijing earlier today (March 26). Vin Diesel, who was there with the film’s other stars, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez, sort of let the cat out of the bag when he was talking about the current movie.

“I loved what (director) James Wan did ... he layers everything with a lot of subtle references,” Diesel told the press. “Like with Jason’s character Shaw and my character Dom’s fight ... he was fighting for his family and I’m fighting for mine. And with the way things end, who knows, you might just see Shaw in the future film!”

“You’re revealing all the secrets here, aren’t you?” teased Rodriguez.

“Ooh, I got another job!” quipped Statham.

Furious 7 is one of the last films starring Paul Walker, who died in a car crash in November 2013 during a break from filming, at the age of 40. Walker’s performance was completed with his brothers Caleb and Cody doubling for the actor. The action-packed street racing franchise has attracted a large number of fans worldwide since the first instalment debuted in 2001.

Earlier in the day, Diesel dropped a large hint. “If we ever made another Fast And Furious film, we will film in China!“ he yelled ecstatically to a rousing Beijing crowd who mobbed the mini red carpet the stars walked on just before the press conference. He proceeded to explain further, saying how filming scenes in China for the next instalment would be a natural fit, as characters Gisele (played by Gal Gadot) and Han (Sung Kang) had moved to Hong Kong in Fast And Furious 6, and the future film could pick up where they left off.
