Zoe Saldana sends an intergalactic message to teenagers out there

SINGAPORE — Hey, film fans, we dare you to watch the video — and tell us we’re wrong to think of super sexy momma-to-be Zoe Saldana as the best way to improve your mood if you’re having the mid-week blues.

SINGAPORE — Hey, film fans, we dare you to watch the video — and tell us we’re wrong to think of super sexy momma-to-be Zoe Saldana as the best way to improve your mood if you’re having the mid-week blues.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should, by now, have assessed that the actress has been kicking butt as Gamora in Guardians Of The Galaxy (which is so awesome that it became the top August debut *of all time* when it opened to a record-breaking US$94.3 million in America).

And because we’re still excited about the film, we’re giving away a limited edition set of Guardians Of The Galaxy goodies worth $235 to five lucky readers. Each set includes a t-shirt, a keychain, a lenticular mousepad, a sticker reel, a movie poster and … an awesome *talking* Hasbro GGM 12” Star-Lord action figure!

All you have to do is to visit http://tdy.sg/guardians29july and tell us is who is your favourite Guardian and why.

Need help picking one? Maybe listening to Zoe will convince you she’s the one.

We’ve learnt many things from Miss Possibly-pregnant-with-twins during a recent exclusive interview when she dropped by our little red dot. Among these: She doesn’t agree with Kermit the Frog, being on an island makes her “feel at home”, she has “more male friends than female friends”, she has this “undying desire to work with more and more women” and the male directors she has worked with (JJ Abrams, Steve Spielberg, James Cameron and James Gunn) know their women and are “true gentlemen who truly see women for what we really are”.

And finally, the 36-year-old actress has got some words of advice for her 16-year-old self — and that’s to have no regrets.

“I have no regrets,” she said. “Anything, whether you like it or not, whether it’s been easy or not, will lead you down a path that you’re supposed to be on. And you just need to accept it, and the only thing you can control is your present and (making) better choices.

“What I would tell my 16 year old self and other 16 year olds is to follow your heart and listen to your voice. It is cheesy but it’s very important to listen to our voice. We are taught from a very early age that we have to respect our parents, we have to respect our elders, we have to respect society. We have to respect everything else and the last person we get to respect is ourselves. So it’s important to listen to yourself and your voice.”

So will Zoe Saldana get the vote for being amazingly inspirational? Let us know and good luck with the contest!
