SINGAPORE — Cruz Teng has left MediaCorp Radio with effect from Nov 6, the former YES 933 head and producer-presenter confirmed in a statement on his website.
Teng will join Noon Talk Media, an artiste management and video production company, as group creative director, reporting to Jacki Ng, chief executive officer. At Noon Talk, Teng will oversee the group’s creative direction and development of its products and artistes.
YES 933 confirmed Teng’s resignation in a statement to the media.
“Cruz Teng has relinquished his management role at YES 933 with effect from Nov 6, 2015, to pursue his own interests,” the statement said. “Ms Rebecca Yap, VP of Chinese Programming (at MediaCorp Radio), will oversee the station until a replacement is found.”
In a statement on his website, Teng said he tendered his resignation a while ago, and requested for his last day of service to coincide with the 15th Global Chinese Music Awards, so that he could complete what he had started doing.
“This is actually a non-issue for the general public. I deliberately stated in the media release that I will ‘continue to be available for radio, television and event engagements’. This means that you will still see me, unless you deliberate block me or ignore me,” he wrote.
Teng added that he will be taking a short break before he starts work at Noon Talk, and will “certainly” go back on air “sooner or later”. HON JING YI
