Derrick Hoh, Reuby to represent Singapore at the Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival

SINGAPORE – Singapore’s singer-songwriters Derrick Hoh and Reuby are set to represent Singapore at the Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival (HKAMF) 2015, when it is held on March 27 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Now in its fifth year, the HKAMF will be held in two parts. The first will see Reuby competing against seven new artistes in the region for awards under the HKAMF 2015 Super Nova Contest, including the HKAMF 2015 Super Nova Award, the HKAMF 2015 Best Vocal Performance Award and the HKAMF 2015 Best Stage Performance Award. Reuby will face China’s Koala Liu, Taiwan’s Sun Shi Shi, Japan’s GILLE, Korea’s The Barberettes, Malaysia’s POOVA, Thailand’s King Kong And The Chum and Hong Kong’s Jay Fung. If he wins, Reuby will be the first Singaporean contestant to win a prize at the festival’s Super Nova contest.

During the second part of the festival, Hoh will perform alongside regional stars like Korea’s INFINITE, Hong Kong’s Raymond Lam, Taiwan’s Mavis Fan, Japan’s Sekai No Owari, as well as China’s Zhang Bichen and Yu Feng. Kit Chan, Tanya Chua and JJ Lin previously represented Singapore in earlier editions.

“It’s a great feeling, I’m totally humbled by the opportunity,” said Hoh. “Kit Chan, JJ Lin and Tanya Chua are big household names from our country and I’m very honoured to be selected to represent Singapore this year following these local superstars whom I look up to. I’m very humbled.”
