SINGAPORE — And the show is now on. After the unfortunate postponement of his debut show last month, Singaporean singer-songwriter Gentle Bones will finally be performing at the Esplanade Concert Hall on June 10.

The musician, whose real name is Joel Tan, was supposed to perform to a sold-out crowd on Dec 10 last year, but it was postponed after he found himself stuck in Indonesia for nearly 100 days following a problem regarding performance permits.

Tan was slated as the opening act for YouTube star Kinna Grannis’ Asia tour, along with the latter’s husband Jesse Epstein. The tour’s main promoter Ellipsis Live had earlier told Channel NewsAsia that complications had arisen after their show in Jakarta last September, regarding issues with performance licenses and permits procured by tour promoter Creon Asia. The passports of Tan and the rest were impounded, but they were eventually released on Dec 23.

The June concert will feature new songs from his upcoming second EP as well as tracks from his self-titled debut EP. Opening the show will be electronic duo [.gif].

“This concert marks a huge milestone in my musical career. Months of preparations have gone into this show and I’m glad I have the opportunity to present my new music, along with revisions of the old, in the beautiful Esplanade Concert Hall,” said Gentle Bones in a statement. “Many exciting things are almost due and I’d like the people at home to be the first to experience it live.”

Gentle Bones’ concert will be held on June 10 at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets, which are priced from S$25 to S$45, go on sale from Friday (Jan 29) at SISTIC.
