ZOUKOUT 2013. With a theme on the journey of transformation, ZoukOut 2013 brings you a night of new sounds, new emotions and a new world. This year, the event will run the gamut from electro, trance, house, techno to mambo jambo, hip hop and pop, in a celebration of 13 magical years of music, dance and art in the great sandy outdoors. For just two nights, dance your way out from your humdrum reality in the party of the year. Dec 13 and 14, 8pm to 5am and 8pm to 8am, respectively, Siloso Beach Sentosa. THE SULTAN JAZZ CLUB PRESENTS SANDRA VIRAY & LOUIS SOLIANA COMBO. Sandra is renowned for her impeccable voice and style of jazz singing, soulful interpretation and perfect rhythm. Come join Sandra with Louis Soliano Combo. Dec 13, 9.30pm, Sultan Jazz Club. S$20 admission.

VOICES 2013 ESTONIAN PHILHARMONIC CHAMBER CHOIR. One of the most highly regarded choirs in the world, the choir has a repertoire that extends from Gregorian chant and baroque to 21st century music. The choir presents a performance including motets by Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms, chansons by Claude Debussy, and works by prominent Estonian composers, Veljo Tormis and Arvo Part. SING OUT! Watch lively singing performances of pop a cappella ensembles, show choirs and more as they belt out your popular radio hits. Dec 13 and 14, various show times. Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. Free.

VOICES WITHIN. Featuring top groups from national a cappella championships, youth and school choirs, celebrate the beauty of the human voice in Voices Within. Dec 13 to 15, Various show times, Esplande Concourse. Free.

LATE NITE @ ESPLANADE KAILIN YONG’S QILIN GROUP FEATURING WEIXIANG TAN, PABLO CALZADO, FELIX PHANG. Dive into a vast ocean of sounds where world, jazz and folk music meet with Qilin Group’s music, fiddle, jazz piano, drumming and bass. The quartet formed early this year brings you a night of original world music with a keen awareness of vast cultural and emotional landscapes. Dec 13, 9.30pm, Esplanade Recital Studio. 11TH INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL 2013 (SINGAPORE) ERIC FRANCERIES. His experience has led him to give concerts and masterclasses in guitar festivals around the world. Dec 13, 7.30pm, RELC International Hotel (Auditorium). Tickets at S$40 from Sistic.

LOVE ACROSS THE OCEANS — MARSILING CHINESE ORCHESTRA & YOUTH ANGKLUNG ORCHESTRA INDONESIA MUSICAL EXCHANGE. Love Across The Ocean brings Marsiling Chinese Orchestra (MCO) and Youth Angklung Orchestra Indonesia together. Dec 13, 7.30pm, The Star Theatre. Tickets at S$19 from Sistic.

VOICES 2013 KHOOMII — THROAT SINGERS OF MONGOLIA BY KHUSUGTUN. Khusugtun is a khoomii (throat singing) ensemble that performs modern arrangements of Mongolian folk songs that have been passed down for generations. The six-member ensemble even specialises in singing at least two distinct musical notes at the same time! Dec 14 and 15, 7.30pm and 5pm respectively, Esplanade Recital Studio. VOICES 2013 COLOURS — AN EVENING OF A CAPPELLA JUZ-B, KEY ELEMENTS, MICAPPELLA, VOCALUPTUOUS. Colours bring together four unique a cappella groups. Together they present an evening of original compositions and even K-pop and RnB hits. Dec 14, 7pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets at S$35 from Sistic.

11TH INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL 2013 (SINGAPORE) BERTA ROJAS. Berta Rojas is one of the most outstanding female classical guitarists today, as the creator of the first online classical guitar competition (Barrios World Wide Web Competition), and is also the artistic director of the Ibero-American Guitar Festival. Learn from her through the 11th International Guitar Festival through seminars, masterclasses and lessons. Dec 14, 7.30pm, RELC International Hotel (Auditorium). Tickets at S$50 from Sistic.

11TH INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL 2013 (SINGAPORE) FRANCO MORONE. Franco Morone is the Italian poet of the acoustic guitar, performing for over 30 years and is one of the greatest names in guitar. Be mersmerized by his guitar playing techniques today. Dec 15, 7.30pm, RELC International Hotel (Auditorium). Tickets at S$40 from Sistic.

THE LEGEND OF HAGOROMO BY GRIGORY NOVIKOV. Award-winning classical guitarist Grigory Novikov will share with you the compositions that have inspired him in his music journey with guest guitarist Kevin Loh. Be enchanted by his emotive interpretations of works by composers such as J. K. Mertz, K. Fujii, V. Kozlov and many others. Dec 16 and 17, 7.15pm to 7.45pm and 8.15pm to 8.45pm, Esplanade Concourse. CHAMBER CAPRICCIO BY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS CHINESE ENSEMBLE. The SOTA Chinese Ensemble present a selection of famous Chinese works such as Dunhuang by Jiang Ying, Silhouette of Water Village by Mo Fan and Burning Fire by Shui Ye Li Yan. EVERGREEN SYMPHONIC SERENDIPITY @ ESPLANADE 2013. The Evergreen Symphony Orchestra (ESO) returns after nine years since its debut in Singapore in 2004. The ESO, based in Taipei, will excite audiences with a special repertoire of folk songs, classic pieces, musical scores, and movie themes. The ESO will also be joined with two winners of Taiwan Golden Melody Prize - Mr Yin Cheng-yang and Ms Tseng Hsin-mei for the nostalgic evening. Dec 18, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. NAUGHTY ‘NOOR’ NICE PRESENTS: MERRY XXX’MAS SHOW! (NO. 4). MERRY XXX’MAS SHOW No.4 features Naughty “Noor” Nice (NNN) playing hardcore jazz and soft core jokes, letting themselves loose (ahem) with reassembling Christmas jingles and jazz/ pop standards. AN EVENING WITH LAURA FYGI. Award-winning jazz singer Laura Fygi is back in Singapore for an exclusive one night concert, celebrating her 20th anniversary as a solo artist. Laura will immerse you in nostalgia as she belts out old favourites such as Fly Me To The Moon, Corcovado and many more. Known for her distinct sultry voice, she will perform her unique renditions of jazz, bossa nova and Latin hits. Dec 18, 8pm, Resorts World Theatre, Resorts World Sentosa. 1ST WBAS YOUTH BAND FESTIVAL WITH GUEST BAND: WINDSTARS ENSEMBLE. The finale concert of the 1st WBAS Youth Band Festival showcases band students from primary to tertiary level. These handpicked students are mentored by musicians of the Windstars Ensemble, in a celebration of their achievements in musical excellence and newfound friendship. Singapore’s finest musicians, the Windstars Ensemble, will also join them on the symphonic stage. Dec 19, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets at S$14 at Sistic.

THE LOST TRIBE FEATURING KAILIN, ALVIN, FELIX AND ELISA. The Lost Tribe serves up a unique blend of island-born, string-driven, gypsy-hearted swing music. Dec 19, 9pm, Sultan Jazz Club. S$15 admission.

REMINISCENCE BY SWAN RUAN ENSEMBLE. The Swan Ruan Ensemble offers a contemporary perspective on the art of ruan (a plucked string lute), with a mix of youthful voices, presenting a repertoire of traditional and classic Chinese pieces. Dec 19, 7.15 – 7.45pm, 8.15 – 8.45pm, Esplanade Concourse. Free.

DING YI CHINESE CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL: CONTEMPO IMPRESSIONS. The Ensemble ConTempo Beijing is a premier Chinese music ensemble specializing in compositions of the 20th and 21st century with their strong technicality and musicality. The ensemble will showcase a selection of pieces by prominent Chinese composers such as Guo. Dec 20, 7.30pm, Esplanade Recital Studio. Tickets at S$30 at Sistic.

MARINA XAVIER QUINTET. It will be a night to remember with Marina Xavier Quintet, who will bring you a spirit of Christmas and lots of soulful jazz, as her voice lingers on even after the show is over. Dec 20, 9pm, Sultan Jazz Club. S$20 admission.

TAKE A BET ON T’ANG. T’ang Quartet invites you to be adventurous and take a bet on them. With no repertoire information, you’ll have to wait and see what the four maestros deal out on the night itself! A concert where the night is a game in itself. Dec 20, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets at S$20-40 at Sistic.

EXTRAORDINARY HORIZONS (EO HORIZONS). EO Horizons is a social enterprise run by deaf persons. One way that helps to develop support for the deaf performers is through performing in the local arts scene. EO horizons will perform song-signing and percussion to popular ballads and Christmas carols. Vocal singing, which transforms lyrics into sign language, carry out the interpretation of the song visually. Dec 20, 7.15 – 7.45PM and 8.15 – 8.45PM, Esplanade Concourse. Free.

JEFFERSON POP ORCHESTRA. Together with Bryan Lim (drums), Kim Eun Taek (keys) and Colin Yong (bass), the Jefferson Pop Orchestra will perform a wide array of pop and jazz tunes. Dec 20, various timings, Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. Free.

ASIAN KUNG - FU GENERATION X STRAIGHTENER 10TH ANNIVERSARY ASIA CIRCUIT. Two well established Japanese bands - ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and STRAIGHTENER, will perform in Singapore as part of a TOKYO FM EARTH X HEART Project Asian Tour. The annual concert features the radio station TOKYO FM’s special station philosophy, reminding audiences the need for environmental conservation while enjoying the performances by popular bands.
