YOUTH VOICES: VOCAL MUSIC FEST 2014. Presented by The A Cappella Society, this music festival celebrates the human voice and all that it can do when it comes to making music out of nothing but your vocal cords. It kicks off with an opening concert tonight at Mamanda (73 Sultan Gate) with performances from Acappuccino, Stacey Douglas, NANU, TAS Youth Voices and more. March 22, various venues. CULTURE CLASH FESTIVAL. Featuring 5 ‘live’ acts and 6 DJs, this international indie arts festival is finally back after 7 long years. Homegrown bands like The Mighty Mighty, Instigator Afrobeat Orchestra and The Voodoo Sound will be playing alongside international sounds, which include Japan’s Blitz and Squash Brass Band and Greek DJs Tzinas and Kostas Krep. *SCAPE CONFESSTIVAL. Music festival *SCAPE Confesstival will be featuring popular local bands the likes of Giveth and Stopgap, veterans in the local music scene Plainsunset, and other acts. Young contenders compete with each other in the finals of Youth Jammerz Battle of the Bands 2014. *SCAPE will be jam-packed with sports and arts-related festivities as part of Pump It! 2014. PAUL DI’ANNO FEATURING SUICIDE SOLUTION. One night only performance by heavy metal singer Paul Di’anno – with the last ever chance to catch him in Singapore. The original vocalist for the legendary band Iron Maiden will be crashing into Singapore for his final tour before retirement. March 25, 9.30pm, Hard Rock Cafe, 50 Cuscaden Road. R18 restrictions. BRAHMS’ PIANO QUARTET. Three pieces from Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms meld together in a performance put up by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Yu Long conducts the orchestration of Brahms’ Fifth Symphony, with Melvyn Tan joining him on the piano for Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto. March 27, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. STRIPPED. Four women from different backgrounds come together to share empowering tales from their lives. Catherine Yeo, Sarah Ismail, Lily Anna Nuris and Sheila De Niro belt out soulful lyrics in an emotional vocal concoction. March 28, 9.30pm, Esplanade Recital Studio. Tickets at S$25 from SISTIC.

COME OUT AND PLAY! Local bands Iman’s League, Before the Tempest, An Honest Mistake and The Summer State will be spilling some catchy pop-punk tunes throughout the weekend. March 28 to 30, 7.30pm, Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. Free.

TITANS OF BOLLYWOOD MUSIC – VISHAL & SHEKHAR. Award-winning duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, who have over 50 musical hits under their belt, will be performing their first ever public concert.
