SINGAPORE — Following the  twitter exchange between Swift and Nicki Minaj yesterday (July 22), some fans of K-Pop girl group 2NE1 saw it opportune to revive an old dispute over Swift's "Bad Blood" music video.

Somewhere in the midst of Twittersphere chatter over the MTV Video Music awards nominations - specifically, Minaj's tweet about not getting nominated and Swift's response - a Twitter user decided to jump in with old allegations of Swift copying from the Korean pop group's music video Come Back Home. The user posted screenshots from both videos for comparison.

Both videos have bear a futuristic concept, but the songs have different storylines. Despite that, the tweet has reigniting a heated debate between Swift's legions of fans and her detractors, which first began back in May when Swift's "Bad Blood" was released. 2NE1's "Come Back Home" was released in March last year.

Jezebel the Muse wrote on a blog post that Bad Blood was directed by Joseph Kahn, who was born in South Korea, and that Khan was quoted in the Korea Times about getting back to his “Korean roots”, and that he “pay[s] full attention to what’s going on in my field, it’s my job”, as if to suggest these had a bearing on Swift's video, but fell short of saying so explicitly.

Of course, in all good Twitter spats, the director also took to his Twitter account and shot back at online critics in a series of tweets. He tweeted: "Writer of JEZEBEL accused me of ripping off a Korean music video because I was "born in South Korea." WHAT THE F***. Really????"
