SINGAPORE — Just days after tickets for the Singapore leg of the Justin Bieber Purpose World Tour went on sale, the Canadian pop star has cancelled it.

Bieber fans who have already bought tickets for the concert, which was scheduled for Oct 7, will be able to receive refunds from August 1.

The Canadian pop star cancelled his tour on Monday (July 24) citing “unforeseen circumstances”. He was due to perform in the United States and Canada before heading for his Asian leg of the tour with stops in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines and Singapore.

No further details were given for the cancellation. In the statement from organisers of the Singapore leg, Unusual Entertainment, Bieber thanked fans for “the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over the last 18 months”.

The statement added: “He is grateful and honoured to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates.”

All purchased tickets will receive full refunds from August 1 to August 14.

For fans who paid by credit card, refunds will be automatically credited to the same credit card used for the transaction and will take 14 business days to process.

Fans who bought the tickets by cash or NETS should proceed to Sports Hub Tix at Singapore Indoor Stadium with their tickets and photo ID for cash refund. The booth will be operated from 10am to 8pm from Mondays to Saturdays, and 12pm to 8pm on Sundays and public holidays. All refunds will be made by August 14.

Tickets for the Purpose tour in Singapore went on sale on July 22. They were priced from S$148 to S$298, with VIP packages ranging from S$708 to as high as S$1,898.

Bieber has played more than 150 shows on the tour across America and Europe as well as in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
