SEOUL — Korean singer-actor Kim Hyun-joong issued a public apology to his ex-girlfriend on his official website today (Sept 15), reported Korean media. This comes days after he spent about hours speaking to the police over assault charges filed against him by his ex-girlfriend last month.
“Hello. I’m Kim Hyun-joong. This matter has hurt a girl whom I’ve loved for two years, both mentally and physically. I am really sorry.
“I have done what a man should never do and feel very ashamed. This matter is completely my fault. I once again apologise to her, as well as her family and friends. I hope she can accept my apology and forgive me,” wrote Kim.
“I will learn from this and strive to become a healthy, upright person.”
Kim had admitted to the police that he had accidentally hit his ex-girlfriend during a physical altercation, but denied charges that he had assaulted her on numerous occasions between May and July this year.
The singer-actor’s lawyers said that his ex-girlfriend has decided to drop all charges against him following the apology. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
