BACK TO BACH. Kenneth Hamilton takes on notable piano pieces that revolve around one of the most widely-acclaimed pianist-composers in the world, including Bach’s originals, tributes by Brahms and Liszt, as well as transcriptions by Rachmaninoff and Busoni. VIRTUOSOS OF CHINESE MUSIC. The third installment of the Virtuosos series of concerts will see three illustrious musicians, Wang Wei (guzheng), Yang Wei (pipa) and Jiang Ke Mei (jinghu/banhu), come together for the first time, accompanied by the musicians of Ding Yi Music. Along with their musical performance of classical Chinese tunes such as The Deep Night and Jackdaws Frolicking in Water, the trio will also be sharing anecdotes about their music and themselves. AROUND THE WORLD. As build-up to the A Tapestry of Sacred Music festival, the waterfront will be alive with a cacophony of sounds from all over the world. MARIAM JOHN. Together with pianist Rachma Lim and vocalist Jessica Irawan, Mariam John will be performing classical Indian instruments. With her newest EP Dizzy Girl exploring more jazzy tunes, expect a night of soulful funk from the singer-songwriter. Until April 20, 5.15pm, 6.15pm and 7.15pm, Esplanade Concourse. Free.

THOMSON JAZZ CLUB: BIG BAND MAGIC. Join the Thomson Jazz Club in their 20th anniversary celebration with this double bill concert. Enjoy a night of jazz tunes and boogie fever with hits like Come Fly With Me and Cheek to Cheek, as they are joined by special guests from Singapore and the United States. April 20, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets at S$25 from SISTIC.

REYZA HAMIZAN. Singer-producer Reyza Hamizan, who has written for Imran Ajmain, Sarah Aqilah and Sezairi Sezali, will be playing catchy pop songs. April 21 to 22, 7.15pm and 8.15pm, Esplanade Concourse. Free.

RAFFLES INSTITUTION CHOIR. The Raffles Choirs (Raffles Chorale and Raffles Voices) will see performance pieces such as Haec Dies by William Byrd, Abendlied by Josef Rheinberger and, written just for the group, Vytautas Miskinis’ Tui Sunt Coeli (You Are The Heavens). ENIGMA. The genre-bending sextet comprising Haizad, Sharmila, Mel, Eddy, Dindo and Bai was formed over a decade ago. Catch these established musicians in action every Wednesday. April 23 to May 14, 8.30pm, Timbre @ The Arts House. Free

SSO: ASRAEL SYMPHONY. Lan Shui conducts the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for Joseph Suk’s Asrael Symphony. He will be joined by pianist Nikolai Demidenko for Liszt’s First Piano Concerto. April 24, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets from S$15 to S$90 at SISTIC.

CORNETTO RIDE TO FAME FINALS. Battling for backstage passes and a chance to perform for Taylor Swift at her second concert in Singapore are five hopefuls who will be performing before their fans and judges. April 26, 6pm, Cathay Cineleisure. Free.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA. Asking Alexandria, one of the most widely-popular metalcore bands, is back to rock out. They’ve performed sold-out tours all over the world and From Death To Destiny, their latest album, topped the US Indie charts. April 28 at *SCAPE, The Warehouse.
