THE BEST OF XIE LEI AND YANG XIAO PING. With the legendary songbirds from Taiwan, witness their outstanding showmanship with Yang Xiao Ping’s ever green hits, what with her being the winner of the TOp 10 Famous Singer. In addition, she is joined by the undisputed Taiwan king of song, regaling the audience with his hit songs. Prepare for that wave of nostalgia, folks! THAI MUSIC SHOWCASE AT THE HARD ROCK HOTEL. Also known as TEOUT, this exclusive concert will be an extension to ‘Through Eyes of Us Thais’ exhibition, as well as a celebration of Thai music culture. Featuring electrifying performances by pop star Tata Young and two of Thailand’s most popular rock bands, Endorphine and Big Ass. NEON NIGHTS WITH GOODFELLAS. The 6-piece band may only have been formed just over a year, but they have been making big waves at their performances. Showcasing their versatility with R&B, Motown, and Classic songs to current pop and rock song covers by other bands such as The Killers, Muse and Oasis. You’d be surprised by their killer guitar solo-walks, as well as getting their audience members to dance on stage. CAT MOUNTAIN KINGS, THE KING OF BLUES AND ROCK. They may be a small band, but these funky bunch are especially talented at wowing the crowd with their Roots and Rock Jam. May 31, 9pm, The Barbershop by Timbre.

AN EVENING WITH FRIENDS 2014. Having clinched top honours in prestigious choral competitions in Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and many other countries, the ACJC Choir is the only Singapore Choir to have represented the country at the 4th World Symposium in Sydney. The evening’s concert celebrates genuine friendships and ties that bind, featuring choral pieces by renowned composers from all over the world. COFFEE MORNING AND AFTERNOON TEA WITH FAVOURITE SAKURA MELODIES. Back when Japanese songs had an eminent presence in Chinese pop culture, local singer Chloe aims to revisit some of these famous Mandarin covers during her performance. Such examples include Winter’s Love by Chen Fen Lan, Yang Yan’s Apple Flower, Yao Surong’s The Heartless and many more. June 2, The Esplanade Recital Studio, Tickets available at Sistic, S$12.

MOVIE SCREENING: LES FILS DU VENT. Also known as Sons of the Wind, this is a film by Bruno Le Jean, filmed like a music documentary. A 2004 French action film, it features the Yamakasi, also known as the original French group of practitioners of parkour. Starring Angelo Debarre, Ninine Garcia, Tchavolo Schmitt and Moreno. June 3, Alliance Francaise Theatre, Tickets available at Sistic, S$8.

WE THE KINGS, DEBUTING IN SINGAPORE. THe American pop-rock band are fresh off their latest album, Somewhere Somehow, released December last year, and are ready to rock your world at The Coliseum. Audiences should gear up to rock out with their catchy tunes like Heaven Can Wait, Just Keep Breathing and Art of War. June 4, The Hard Rock Hotel, Tickets available at Sistic, S$78.

ROCK OUT WITH EXTREME, LIVE IN SINGAPORE. With Singapore being one of their pitstops for their 25th year celebration World Tour, the American rock band will be taking the stage with their psychedelic hits, performing the songs from their exhaustive track listing of their highly successful second album Pornograffiti, along with other big hits from their other two albums. June 5, The Hard Rock Hotel, Tickets available at Sistic, Prices start at S$78.

LORD OF THE RINGS SOUNDTRACK PERFORMED LIVE WITH FULL MOVIE SCREENING. Good news for all the Howard Shore fans in Singapore as Middle-Earth cones to Singapore with The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, the second installment of Peter Jackson’s epic film trilogy based on J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Ring novels. Performed by The Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, Singapore’s first and only fully-independent professional orchestra, immerse yourself in the full-length Academy Award-winning motion picture projected on the giant screen, complete with original dialogue and sound effects. June 6 and 7, The Star Theatre, Tickets available at Sistic, Prices start at S$58.

MUSICAL JOURNEY WITH THE JUKULELES. This band of local talent is bound to bring us on a wondrously melodic journey. WIth Wan and Tian on the lead vocals and the ukuleles, Lynne on the piano and Zi on percussion, audiences will be treated to medleys, mash-ups and enchanting duets. Escape into their harmonizing musical soundscape! June 2 and 3, 7pm, Esplanade Concourse, Free.

SILENT FILMS WITH THE LOST TRIBE OF PULAU GYPSY. This eccentric local band is determined to rewrite the music of the black-and-white short films of silent film comedians with their unique blend of island-born, string-driven, gypsy-hearted swing compositions. June 4 and 5, 7pm, Esplanade Concourse, Free.

THE J SHOW. Join the alter ego of Singaporean circus artist, Jay. Entertaining the audience with his loud character and crazy balancing skills, Jay delights his audience with many more talents, and an array of his other personalities. Watch, as he turns from a crystal ball manipulator to an illusionist, a juggler and even a classical musician. June 6 & 8, 7pm, Esplanade Concourse, Free.

SONAR BY NEVERLAND. A late night experience occurring very night of the week. Alternating between live music performances and club DJ sets, it features singers, dancers and DJs from all over Asia – including countries like Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, China and Thailand.

SATURDAY LIVE AT THE SAND BAR. Tiring week? Chill out to a fusion of contemporary pop, along with Shades of Gray every Saturday at the Sand Bar & Flame. Every Saturday, 7pm, 50 Siloso Beach Walk.

SATURDAYS AT THE VAULT. Seeing a selection of local DJs, including Kenneth Francis, Ramesh, Domo and Julian, playing an assortment of funk, house and nu disco. Every Saturday, 6pm, 23 Circular Road, Free.

#upLIFT! Having a bad day? No worries. The Flippin’ Rovers! will take care of that, with some well-placed improv! This group is bound to make you laugh, as you enjoy their melodic guitar tunes. May 30 to June 8, 7pm, Esplanade Concourse, Free.

FACE TO FACE. They are a Japanese clown troupe with their kimonos, powdered faces, and head pieces that would put Marge Simpson’s beehive to shame! Ojarus return to Flipside with a strange new show bringing us face to face with mime, magic music and more memorable encounters. May 31 to June 1, 7pm, Esplanade Concourse, Free.
