Best Of Keane (Keane) | 3.5/5

SINGAPORE - British keyboard-oriented alt-pop band Keane has enjoyed enormous success with 10 million albums sold worldwide and sold-out live performances virtually everywhere the band has travelled to. The Best of Keane is the first retrospective of the band’s career so far and includes tracks from the early albums, Hopes And Fears and Under the Iron Sea such as Everybody’s Changing, Somewhere Only We Know and Is It Any Wonder?, sitting pretty alongside Spiralling and My Shadow, two songs that reflect the band’s fallow latter-era offerings, which departed somewhat from its signature keyboard sounds and incorporated more guitars and synths into the mix. And yes, Silenced By The Night, Sovereign Night Cafe and the magnificent Disconnected - from the last album, Strangeland, a distinct return to form - are included. New songs - Higher Than The Sun and the more promising Won’t Be Broken - complete this set with mixed results.
