Motion (Calvin Harris) | 2/5
SINGAPORE — Award-winning Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris is probably one of the most successful persons working in the contemporary pop scene right now. Which is also probably the reason why pop music is currently as uninteresting as it is.
SINGAPORE — Award-winning Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris is probably one of the most successful persons working in the contemporary pop scene right now. Which is also probably the reason why pop music is currently as uninteresting as it is. The fact that these factory manufactured songs resonate so strong with the public, even though they all sound formulaic and boring, is an indictment on the paucity of creativity and talent in demand now. There are big name collaborations on Motion that will no doubt ensure that it is yet another bestseller for Harris. The biggest pairing is probably for Outside with Ellie Goulding. Also of note: Collaborations with Haim and Gwen Stefani. Not that it makes too much difference as the songs begin to sound exactly the same halfway through the album. But presumably that’s what the fans want and you have got to give the fans what they want.
