We Are All Amateur Takes Control (Amateur Takes Control) | 3.5/5

SINGAPORE - Where did the time go? Post-rockers Amateur Takes Control (ATC) formed in 2006 and grew from strength to strength in the following years, establishing a reputation for musical excellence and dynamism within Singapore and the region. The quintet announced a hiatus of sorts almost a year ago due to founder member Adel Rashid’s overseas academic pursuits. In light of contemporary trends, the band has very recently released a vinyl compilation of previously released material together with new songs - Phosphorus and Radon. The compilation is fairly essential for post-rock fans as ATC has always delivered a kaleidoscopic summary of what tasteful post-rock sounds like - from atmospheric minimalist conceits like Sayonara Supergirl to the fluctuating moods of Something You Should Know About Last Night.
