SINGAPORE — While six nominees have already been selected for the much-coveted 2016 MTV EMA Best South-east Asia Act category, including our very own singer-songwriter Gentle Bones (real name Joel Tan), The Sam Willows is still in the running as one of five wild card contenders.

Besides Singapore’s The Sam Willows, the other acts are Malaysia’s Bunkface, The Philippines’ Donnalyn Bartolome, Indonesia’s SHAE and Thailand’s ToR+ Saksit, and they are vying for a chance to nab the final spot as the seventh ‘wild card’ nominee.

To get the act in, fans will have to tweet the hashtag of their favorite wild card contender, as well as the hashtag of the show.

The local act who gets the most votes during this round of pre-voting will go on to be a nominee and compete against the others in that category.

Here are the hashtags for the five acts:

The Sam Willows: #NominateTheSamWillows #MTVEMA

Bunkface: #NominateBunkface #MTVEMA

Donnalyn Bartolome: #NominateDonnalynBartolome #MTVEMA

SHAE: #NominateSHAE #MTVEMA

ToR+ Saksit: #NominateToRandSaksit #MTVEMA

The six confirmed nominees are Dong Nhi, Gentle Bones, Raisa Andriana, Sarah Geronimo, Thaitanium and Yuna. Results for the wildcard pick will be revealed on Sept 27. For more information, visit http://asia.mtvema.com/
