Stefanie Sun faints after concert in China

SINGAPORE – Is Stefanie Sun working too hard?

Photos showing the Singaporean singer-songwriter being carried by a burly man, and looking ill in a wheelchair, have been circulating the internet, causing concern among Sun’s fans. The 35-year-old had reportedly collapsed after her concert on Saturday evening in Chongqing, China. According to Chinese media, Sun appeared to be well during the concert, and performed a full set of 30 songs to an audience of 50,000 before she fainted backstage.

Reports stated that Sun was later rushed to hospital, but has now recovered.

“After spending the whole day in bed, I am back to life!” Sun posted on micro-blogging site Weibo. “Thank you for your concern! This happened because I hadn’t recovered fully from the flu. But I can now go back to Singapore to see my baby! I’m happy.”

Sun is due to hold her Kepler world tour at the new National Stadium in Singapore on July 5.
