SPRING BLOOM. The charms of traditional Chinese music and rhythms are brought to the fore with the Resonance Sheng Ensemble, SMU Chinese Orchestra and the Siyun Ensemble. Until Jan 26, various times, Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. Free.

 

CUATRO ELEMENTOS: THE FOUR ELEMENTS. The Xpose Guitar Ensemble focuses on the four elements of life, performing pieces like Joe Hisaishi’s Oriental Wind, Kengo Momose’s Rain and Hatanaka Yudai’s Partition Orage. LEGENDS OF HUANG MEI DIAO: LING PO & HU CHIN IN CONCERT. Ling Po and Hu Chin are teaming up to perform their masterpiece, Liang Shan Bo and Zhu Ying Tai, and other Huang Mei Diao classics. Jan 25, 8pm, The Star Theatre. Tickets from S$68 to S$148 at Sistic.

STRAUSS FESTIVAL: FOUR LAST SONGS (SSO). Performing works from Richard Strauss and Wagner and featuring Mark Wigglesworth and Swedish soprano Annalena Persson. Jan 25, 7.30pm, Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets from S$15 to S$72 at Sistic.

 

MING BRIDGES “MORPHOSIS” SHOWCASE. Local singer Ming Bridges releases a new full length English album titled Morphosis, featuring 10 self-composed songs, with folk pop rock and electronic influences. Jan 25, 7pm, Timbre @ Gillman. Free.

 

BASSIS: ONEMAN. DJ Oneman cut his teeth on pirate radio and is now a regular DJ on Rinse FM. He has released two mix albums with Fabriclive and Rinse FM. Jan 25, 10pm, Home Club. Tickets at S$22 (with 1 drink).

 

RICHARD JACKSON QUARTET. The quartet comes together for the first time featuring their versions of favourite jazz classics as well as original tunes. Jan 25, 9.30pm, Sultan Jazz Club. Tickets at S$35.

 

DES WONG. Des will be performing new compositions and arrangements of classical music, featuring accomplished guest singers Serena Sharrock and Crenshaw Yeo. Jan 27 to Jan 29, 7.15pm and 8.15pm, Esplanade Concourse. Free.
