SINGAPORE — Halloween in Singapore gets bigger every year, with parties galore and both kids and adults getting into the, erm, spirit, with imaginative and creepy costumes. The very popular Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios is back for a sixth year and even the likes of Cathay Malls is spreading the scares, with its clown-themed Halloween maze, as part of Cirque The Cathay. Here are seven Halloween parties to check out, if you are deadly serious about having fun.

Here are seven Halloween parties to check out, if you are deadly serious about having fun.
1. For circus lovers: Cirque Le Soir
Where: Ce La Vi, SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands, Tower 3
When: Oct 29, 9pm till late, limited tickets (inclusive of one premium pour) at S$48 available online, or available at the door at S$68
Held in collaboration with London’s award-winning boutique club, Cirque Le Soir, this promises to be a romp like no other. Step into an enchanting, warped realm of twisted madness and mayhem, and be entertained by performers with unique sets of skills. These include a fire dancing duo, an extreme drummer, a burlesque performer, sword swallowers, acrobats and, of course, clowns. Tantalise your senses with a range of wild theatrics and decadent treats, set in a stunning rooftop location. A dress code of a Halloween-inspired costume applies.
2. For all-in-one fun: Nightmare On Clarke Street
Where: Clarke Quay
When: Oct 29, 8pm till late, free admission
It’s the entertainment quarter’s signature Halloween event and it’s back for another year. Collect enough spooky photos to freak your friends out on Instagram by posing in areas such as the Clarke Quay Abandoned Hotel and The Bloody Butcher Shop. If you don’t want to go in costume, you can get a creepy makeover from a facepainter and airbrush tattoo artist. There wll be entertainment on stage too, with the Halloween Axe-travaganza hosted by Sonia Chew and Kimberly Wang from 987FM. Grab a drink — there will be a pop-up Highlander Bar at the Fountain Square for easy access to a cold brew — and be entertained by the live music and the stage games. You can take part in the best-dressed contest too.
3. For the not-so-easily freaked: Freaky Free Flow Friday
Where: Panorama: Riverside Lounge, Third Level, 30 Boat Quay
When: Oct 28, 6pm to 9pm, S$39++, for free-flow wine inclusive of one white, one red and one sparkling as well as an array of cold cuts, cheeses plus a pasta
s if the thrilling panoramic view of the Singapore River is not exciting enough, they have added some extra fun to their popular Free Flow Friday promotion for two nights in October. If you are up for a dare, try its spine-chilling virtual reality game, which will transport you to another realm, for the fright of your life. And, if you last through the eight-minute game, you will win a S$10 dining voucher from its sister restaurant, Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore.
4. For superhero fans: Gotham City In Chaos

Fans of The Dark Knight will be on a natural high here, as they get instantly transported to Gotham City. Enjoy the bar’s extended happy hour, from 5pm to 10pm, with a wide range of one-for-one deals. Line your tummy with free snacks such as quinoa chicken rice and cacao popcorn. There’s a photo competition too, where you stand to win goodies from Rumpoles Bar and Superlife Co. Whether you are a superhero or a supervillain, take this chance to indulge in your comic fantasies, while enjoying a great party too.
5. For serious partygoers: Asia Ghost Stories

When: All week, until Oct 29
Because just one party isn’t enough to celebrate Halloween, this club has decided to dedicate a whole week to it. The festivities began on Oct 26, with a ladies’ night edition of Naughty Nightmares. Go in your most creative — and naughty — outfits and ladies will enjoy six drinks before midnight, as well as a bottle of bubbly if you arrive in a group of five. Tricks and treats include gothic nail polish and make-up services. On Oct 28, there’s Lost Souls, where the club will be decked out like an abandoned Chinese mansion with unknown entities wandering around, searching for more souls to devour. The ultimate party, Asia Ghost Stories, is on Oct 29, where Asia’s scariest ghosts will come to life, with the likes of pontianaks, Sadakos and Japanese ghosts roaming the club. The best costume on each night wins a S$500 Attica credit voucher.
6. For martial arts fans: Battle Royale
Where: OverEasy Orchard, 541 Orchard Road, #01-01 Liat Towers
When: Oct 29, 10pm till late, free admission
Think you are good enough to be crowned lord of the ring? Then let your inner Bruce Lee shine and get ready to rumble, as the venue will be transformed into a fight club like no other. Show up in your fight best and mingle with sexy ring girls and the hottest hunks. Thumping beats will be provided by DJ KFC and KiDG so practice your best moves to get kung fu fighting on the dance floor. There are prizes for the most badass costumes.
7. For carnival-style family fun: The Singapore Halloween Festival 2016: Thriller In The Park
Where: Fort Canning Park
When: Oct 29, 11am to 11pm, tickets at S$25 from www.apactix.com, free admission for children under 12
There’s a total of 12 hours of scary fun to be had here so make sure your energy levels are revved up beforehand. The historic Fort Canning Park will be transformed into a fright-fest, with a “Night of the Dead” cemetery and a zombie maze (walking like one is optional). Get your picnic mats and laze while you enjoy the gourmet food and beverage options or wander around the pop-up flea market. Other highlights include a cosplay competition as well as a kids’ zone. Live DJs and musicians will entertain day and night so don’t forget your dancing shoes.
