SINGAPORE — Athletics coach Alfred Sim clinched the title of overall winner of Project Superstar 2014 at the show’s Grand Finals, held on Sunday night at the MediaCorp TV Theatre.

He attributed his win to the fact that this year’s competition — only its third instalment — has “less emphasis on image” than previous editions. “The coaches and production team told us clearly that they were looking for pure singing talent this time. The other two finalists — students Justin Chua, 20 and Tan Yan Hua, 22 — took home S$2,500 each.
