LOS ANGELES — Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders has been cancelled after two seasons, according to Variety.
The series, a spin-off from Criminal Minds, starred Gary Sinise, Alana de la Garza, Daniel Henny, Tyler James Williams and Annie Funke.
The show was recently in the news here thanks to a Singapore-centric episode, Cinderella And The Dragon. The April episode drew ire from netizens thanks to inaccurate representations of Singapore.
It led to a series of comebacks posted online by local blogger Lee Kin Mun, aka Mr Brown. He corrected the show's inaccuracies in his hilarious posts. The Singapore Tourism Board also released a tongue-in-cheek online campaign in response, showing pictures of Singapore landmarks and the slogan: "Criminally Shiok".
There was no reason given for the show's cancellation, but the series suffered from less-than-successful ratings, according to Variety. In the United States, its second season averaged 5 million viewers per episode. Season 12 of Criminal Minds averaged some 7.5 million viewers.
