SINGAPORE — Actors Elvin Ng and Desmond Tan, along with actress Priscelia Chan met the students of Lianhua Primary School at the last promotional roadshow for the comic book version of the drama The Journey: A Voyage yesterday (July 16).

The trio signed autographs and answered questions fielded by the enthusiastic children about the hit drama as well as the comic book during the visit.

Tan said he had a lot of fun interacting with the students.

“It’s always enjoyable to visit a school and soak in the energy of youth. It’s a pleasure to know that the younger generation loves the drama and the comic book as the story reflects an essential part of the history of Singapore,” said Tan, who also sang for the students at the event.

“Today was my first time performing Love Song to SG, which is a song I specially penned for Singapore’s 49th birthday. And it meant a lot to me, to actually hear the kids singing along with me, despite the fact that it was their first time hearing it — my song was just launched on Y.E.S.93.3FM the evening before,” he added.

The comic book version of The Journey: A Voyage has proven to be quite a hit in Singapore — it was the best-selling book in the Chinese publications category for the month of May and June, in Popular bookstores.

Two more comic books, which will be based on the upcoming sequels to the drama The Journey: A Voyage, will be produced. CHANNEL NEWSASIA
