SINGAPORE — After Rebecca Lim and Desmond Tan’s first kiss, they got physical. As in, Lim unleashed physical violence on Tan. The pair of famous BFFs play a couple for the first time in the Channel U drama Second Chance. Tan, in the lead role, is a rogue lawyer with a seedy past who devotes his time to pro bono work. As his love interest, Lim is a plastic surgeon who nursed a secret crush on him as a child.

That pivotal first kiss was “very awkward”, said Lim. “It was very silent and you could feel everybody (on set) just looking at you.”

“After the kiss, the first thing she did was hit me,” Tan revealed. “She’s quite violent sometimes. When she hits you she doesn’t know how much strength she uses.”

“When we are with our friends, I’m more like the boy and he’s like the girl,” said Lim. “He’s very gentlemanly. I’m more of, ‘Like, yeah, whatever’ towards my friends.”

So how would they sell each other in a personal ad?

“If you’re looking for someone with a house, a car, a dog — anything you need — you can look for him,” Lim said with a giggle. Tan went one-up, causing his BFF to roll her eyes: “If Rebecca Lim had a middle name, it would be Google. Because she’s everything that you’re looking for.” May Seah
