SINGAPORE — In conjunction with World Environment Day, MediaCorp’s green initiative Saving Gaia, which aims to raise awareness of environmental issues, returns today with a new campaign. The logos of MediaCorp’s key platforms, including television channels, websites and social media sites, will also adopt a green hue for 24 hours.

The theme this year focuses on discouraging the wasting of food, the use of plastic bags and the dumping of rubbish into the sea.

The music video for Saving Gaia’s theme song, Save My World, will feature a special green superhero mascot named Little Gaia.

During the months of June and July, MediaCorp’s television and radio platforms will feature content that aims to educate on and spread the message of environmental awareness, such as the Channel NewsAsia news special Saving Gaia, airing on Mondays from June 1 to July 20 on hourly bulletins; the documentary Cities Of Tomorrow airing on Sundays at 8pm from June 7 to June 21 on the same channel; and the 938LIVE radio talk show, The Green Agenda, on Wednesdays at 12.30pm.

MediaCorp is also organising a beach clean-up event for its staff volunteers at Pasir Ris Beach on Saturday (June 6), and another beach clean-up in September in conjunction with International Coastal Cleanup Day.
