SINGAPORE — Mediacorp’s OTT (Over-The-Top) entertainment and lifestyle platform Toggle has emerged as the first local content provider to be available on both Chromecast and the new Apple TV. This means that Android and iOS users can now watch Toggle content from their connected devices on their television screens.

The latest foray, announced on Tuesday (May 3), marks the aggressive expansion of Toggle over the years to be available on varied platforms and screen sizes — starting with an online entertainment portal to an app on smartphones and tablets that allows for live streaming and catch-up television services.

Mr Anil Nihalani, head, Connected Media, Mediacorp, said: “Since Toggle’s revamp in April last year, we have gained new audiences and have seen viewership more than quadruple. Our recently launched Toggle Originals have been very well received. Our viewers are getting increasingly sophisticated as their consumption of on-demand services grows.

“The introduction of Toggle on the Chromecast and Apple TV platforms aims to offer them greater options to enjoy Toggle on a wider selection of devices and screens, providing an enhanced viewing experience on the TV screen. We are pleased that Toggle is the first local content provider that is available on both the Chromecast and Apple TV ecosystems.

“We will continue to make Toggle available on multiple platforms, whether it’s the small portable screen in our viewers’ pockets or the big screens in their homes. We have some exciting plans in the coming months to further enrich individual and family viewing experiences, so stay tuned for more exciting developments.”

Since its launch in 2013, Toggle has offered bilingual entertainment and lifestyle content with local content options such as catch-up television, Toggle Originals, live coverage of key events and behind-the-scenes insights free of charge. The Toggle app is also available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, along with computers and laptops, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Microsoft Xbox One and selected Android devices. Android and iOS users can download Toggle from their respective app stores.
