SINGAPORE — Tickets to The Henderson Project’s live orchestral show, One More Time — A Tribute To Zouk At Jiak Kim Street, have been re-priced.

Organisers told TODAY that the free-standing tickets, formerly priced at $148 each, are now available for $88 each.

Ticket sales have not done as well as expected due to a slew of concerts and events in the lead-up to March, forcing concert-goers to pick and choose their gigs. One More Time, a live performance featuring around 48 orchestra members who will play dance music hits popular at Zouk during its 25-year-history at Jiak Kim Street, is on at the Capitol Theatre on March 24 and 25.

High ticket prices for concerts such as Guns N’ Roses and Coldplay have led to music fans being careful with their budgets in past months.

One More Time has been in the works for two years, and organisers The Henderson Project — an offshoot of Selena Tan’s theatre company, Dream Academy — had long set their dates firmly in March, the month Zouk officially opened at its new location in Clarke Quay.

Speaking to TODAY about the ticket price drop, a spokesman said: “Putting together an orchestra is extremely expensive, but our main aim is to share this concert — our homage to a local icon and a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience — with as many as possible.”

“It was just unfortunate (for us) that March turned out to be a month full of foreign music acts, and so we have to cut prices,” he said.

Organisers would not reveal ticket sales, but VIP tables on both nights have sold out.

Those who had bought free-standing tickets at $148 are being contacted via email, and organisers will make up the price difference in drink coupons to the Zouk tribute.

Those who are affected would need to seek out the ticketing table at the foyer entrance to the theatre on the day of show. The Henderson Project staff will distribute drink entitlements, based on the original purchase price.

The show is currently in rehearsals, under concert director, DJ Aldrin Quek, and music director Indra Ismail. The show will feature vocalists such as Rani Singam, X’ho, Alemay Fernandez, Vanessa Fernandez and

Hazrul Nizam. The full orchestra — comprising strings, winds, brasses and rhythm sections — will perform a 90-minute set on each night. A DJ set will follow.
